Trois Lièvres, Atelier d'Art is a new gallery recently opened in Guern, Morbihan. In this quiet rural setting proprietors Amy and Graham Love have creatively renovated an old milking parlour into a beautiful space to show artwork that is in sympathy with the area.
Morbihan, steeped in myth and legend from the ancient Celtic World was the spark that ignited the idea for this imaginative project. They have been encouraged by Amy's parents, artists and illustrators Linda and Roger Garland who have successful careers in illustration and have a gallery in Cornwall Uk.
The gallery currently exhibits the artwork Amy and her family, as the gallery matures local artists will be invited to exhibit their work to build a network of similarly minded creative people.
Amy Love is developing a successful career in pet portraiture and is commissioned for her highly detailed animal portraits in pencil. Her studio is attached to the gallery where visitors can see her work.
One of attraction to the gallery is THE TOLKIEN COLLECTION by Roger Garland, prior to the recent films Roger was commissioned by publishers Allen and Unwin, London during the 80's to illustrate many of J R R Tolkiens titles including The Hobbit, The Lord of The Rings and Farmer Giles of Ham. Many of the images from Tolkien's World, (which to the Tolkien fan are great icons) are permanently on show.
Linda Garland has a long artistic career and stills works professionally today. Her reputation has been built on her highly detailed narrative paintings. Subjects from Arthurian Legend such as The Lady of Shalott to the Greek Myths and The Three Graces give viitors to the gallery a great escape into other worlds.
Seth Garland, Amy's brother has been woking as an artist professionally in the UK for over ten years. He has built a reputation for highly detailed realistic portraits in oils. Samples of his highly collectable reproductions are on sale in the gallery.
